Account deletion

To delete your account and all associated data, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the app. In-app deletion is immediate and permanent — your account, all runs, duel history, and messages are removed right away.

If you no longer have the app installed, use the web deletion request form or email hello@aretos.run with the subject line "Delete my account". Email requests are processed within 30 days.

Report or block a user

To report abusive or inappropriate behaviour from another user, tap the flag icon (⚑) in the top-right of the challenge view, or long-press a message bubble. Choose a reason:

You will receive a confirmation once the report is submitted. We investigate all reports and take action within 48 hours.

To block a user, use the same menu and select "Block [username]". Blocked users cannot send you challenges, message you, or find you in search.

You can also email hello@aretos.run with the runner's username and a description if you prefer.

Frequently asked questions

My run didn't save.
Go to iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Aretos and make sure all read permissions are enabled. GPS runs also require Location to be set to "While Using the App" in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Aretos.
I'm not receiving notifications.
Check iPhone Settings → Notifications → Aretos. Make sure Allow Notifications is on. Also check that you have an active internet connection — notifications require a connection to deliver.
My duel result looks wrong.
Totals are calculated from runs synced before the duel ended. Only runs visible in your Health app during the challenge window count. If a run was added manually or synced late, it may not be included. Email us with your username and duel details and we'll investigate.
How do I accept a challenge I received via QR code?
Scan the QR code with your iPhone camera. If Aretos is installed, it will open automatically and show you the challenge. If you don't have the app yet, you'll be taken to a page where you can download it first.
How do I change my city?
City changes are not yet available in the app. Email hello@aretos.run and we'll update it for you.
Can I delete individual runs?
Individual run deletion is coming in a future update. For now, email us with the run details and we can remove it manually.
I found a bug.
Email hello@aretos.run with a description of what happened, your device model (e.g. iPhone 15 Pro), and your iOS version (Settings → General → About). Screenshots help a lot.
Is Aretos free?
Yes. Aretos is free to download and use. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases at this time.
